MDA Information Systems LLC has a full-time on-site opportunity with a US Gov’t customer in McLean, VA. The position is for a Geospatial Data Manager to join a team that has recently been recognized by the Customer for their exceptional contributions.  The position is for a geospatial data expert to support cutting edge methodologies and tool development.  The individual will help search for base data layers and specialized data sets to support analysts' projects.  The person should have knowledge and experience with using geospatial data sources from industry, academia, the intelligence community, military, and the scientific community.  The individual will work with collections staff to craft requirements and coordinate efforts.  The candidate must have extensive experience using ArcGIS.  The individual will also manage all of the group's geospatial data holdings in Oracle and Postgres.

-Partnering with analysts for creative problem solving of geospatial data issues

-Proactive searching for data in non-obvious locations, building relationships with data providers

-Map layout creation for finished intelligence production

-Determine analysts' data needs and make them aware of new data offerings

-Convert data into usable formats for analysis

-Cataloging new data acquisitions and maintaining catalogs and metadata

-Ensure proper formatting for existing data library

-Publish geospatial datasets into web environment

-Monitor allocated memory space




-Proficiency in ArcGIS and/or open source equivalents

-Motivated, self-starter initiative

-Versatile geospatial skills to assist with data editing, manipulation and visualization
